Wreath with Ornaments

Another busy day but I'm back for Day 9 of Kathy's (The Daily Marker) Coloring Challenge with a Christmas wreath.

Supplies: Paper - Paper Studio A2 card & kraft;
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
Dies - Hero Arts Branch Wreath (retired)
Stamps - My Favorite Things Winter Wreath;
Hero Arts Christmas List Stamp & Cut (retired) and
Other - Copic Markers; pencils;
Various inks

I was die cutting some wreaths for a friend and one cut kinda wonky. I cleaned it up with a bit of fussy cutting and decided to color it today. Normally there's a stamped line connecting the right side but that was part of the wonkiness I cut off. Decided to add a Hero Arts branch wreath. Then I thought a few pines would be nice. The pine stamp set had an ornament stamp so I added a trio of ornaments. Sentiment and done!

Also adding to Darnell's November NBUS Challenge since my wreath stamp & die are getting first play today and to Merry Little Christmas Anything Christmas Goes (third entry there). Thanks for all the fun challenges!!

Thanks for visiting and for your kind comments!!

Mason Jar Bouquet

Neenah Classic Crest Solar White;

Stamped the bouquet & die cut into a small rectangle, then colored with pencils. Layered with a mat onto some Lawn Fawn patterns & then to an A2 card. Added a sentiment strip - done. Very quick and easy once the coloring was done (took about 40 minutes to color)!!

Joyful Greetings

Busy day today but I managed enough coloring for Day 7 of Kathy's (The Daily Marker) Coloring Challenge. I had my watercolors out from a previous day and I decided to go with them, using a new medallion die from Hero Arts.

Supplies: Paper - Paper Studio Brights;
Strathmore 140 lb Cold Press Watercolor;
Dies - Hero Arts Snowflake Medallion Fancy Die and
Stamps - Hero Arts CL114 Joyful Greetings &
CL622 Designer Snowflakes (both retired)
Other - Prima Metallic Accents watercolors;
Memento Rosebud & Versamark inks;
Ranger Princess gold ep

I die cut the medallion from watercolor paper and watercolored with pinks and blues, merging on the borders for purple (plus I enhanced with more purple). The background circle was watercolored with yellow, gold and a few dabs of copper. The shimmer is so lovely in real life!! Stamped and gold embossed my sentiment on that circle then matted onto a blue one. Card is cut to A6 - A2 was too small, A7 too big and A6, as Goldilocks would say "just right"! Layered 3 snowflake dies for dimension and stamped a couple tone-on-tone snowflakes off edge for interest. Final touch was a sentiment strip - done!

Because I stamped off the edge and watercolored, this works for the current CAS Mix Up Challenge (third & final entry). Also used non-traditional colors so I'm adding to CAS Christmas (third & final entry) too. Finally - to Darnell's November NBUS Challenge since my medallion die is getting first play today and to Merry Little Christmas Anything Christmas Goes (second entry there). Thanks for all the fun challenges!!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you're enjoying the day! Happy crafting!!

Jolly lights

Finally, a gorgeous fall day in MN! Still a bit windy, plus a few snowflakes this morning but nice & sunny now. Here's my coloring for today:

Supplies: Paper - Paper Studio A2 card;
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
Stamps - Hero Arts Jolly (retired)
Dies - Hero Arts Christmas Lights Border;
Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes
Other - Copic Markers; Distress Ink & ep;
Hero Arts clear lacquer; Michael's gem

Day 6 of Kathy's (The Daily Marker) current Coloring Challenge and I chose to color a holiday die cut I recently got from Hero Arts. I used Copic Markers (see photo below of the colors) - 4 lights each of 7 color families, plus a bit of grey & a green frame and wires. The biggest pain was cutting this detailed image; even using a metal shim I needed 6 passes to cut the 110 lb cardstock! Color the light frame and added to an A2 card (sort of a minty color) which I had stamped & embossed the word JOLLY (see - I said I'd be back to finally use the third word in that stamp set!). Next I applied lacquer to each light bulb and a die cut snowflake with gem to the O. Done!!

I'm also adding this to Virginia's November Show & Share (third entry) and to Darnell's November NBUS Challenge since my die is getting first play today. Thanks to Kathy, Virginia & Darnell for hosting!!

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your day!!

Purple pitcher bouquet

It's another gloomy day here & super windy - just about blew away going to the grocery store! But I'm back with some more coloring - here's my card:

Supplies: Paper - Authentique (plaid);
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White;
Ms Sparkle & Co woodgrain
Stamps - Power Poppy Go Wild
Dies - My Favorite Things Blueprints (retired);
A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle;
Other - Copic Markers, pencils,

Day 5 of Kathy's (The Daily Marker) current Coloring Challenge and I chose another image from Power Poppy's Go Wild set. Stamped the pitcher bouquet & colored with Copics, added some shading & lines with pencils. Die cut with an oval and layered onto a plaid background. Added a scalloped strip. Like Kathy, I appreciate the SSS printed sentiment strips for a quick addition. Done!!

I'm also adding this to Virginia's November Show & Share (second entry). Thanks to Kathy and Virginia for hosting!!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!!

Glass jars

Happy Saturday! It's a gloomy, windy one here but I'm inside with a cheery image colored with Copics.

Supplies: Paper - Paper Studio A2 card; Neenah

Hero Arts - All Occasion Msgs (retired)
Stencil - Tim Holtz Stripes
Other - Copic Markers, pencils,
Hero Arts clear lacquer;
white & black pens; Michael's gems;
Shaded Lilac Distress Ink

Day 4 of Kathy's (The Daily Marker) current Coloring Challenge and I chose a Power Poppy image from another new-to-me stamp set ordered this summer. Stamped & colored, added some stenciled stripes for "wallpaper" & lacquer to the vases. Stamped a sentiment from the PP set and then a Hello from an old Hero Arts set. Added some gems and done!!

I'm also adding this to Darnell's November NBUS Challenge (new stamps) and to Virginia's November Show & Share. Thanks to all for fun challenges!!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day!!

Snowflake print making

TGIF and Friday the 13th, no less! Day 3 of Kathy's (The Daily Marker) Coloring Challenge and I decided to revisit her print-making coloring from a previous challenge. I had loads of fun with it this summer (see an example here) and thought it would be great using a large snowflake die.

Supplies: Paper - Ms Sparkle & Co A2 card;
Strathmore 140 lb Cold Press Watercolor;
Dies - A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle;
Hero Arts Snowflake Fancy Die (retired)
Other - Yasutomo watercolors; Twinkling H2Os;
Michael's gem

Basically all you do is die cut something from watercolor paper and paint it while it sits atop a sheet of more watercolor paper. Once painted you can spritz the object and use it as a stamp too. Cut a portion of the print you want to feature and away you go! Added my panel to an A2 card. Layered an unpainted snowflake behind the painted one for dimension and added a gem. Adhered to card and added a sentiment stripe - done!! This card works great for mass production - very quick and easy!

I had selectively die cut my print so it was off the edge. That way it would work for the current CAS Mix Up Challenge (second entry). Also used non-traditional colors so I'm adding to CAS Christmas (second entry) too. My card works at Watercooler Wednesday for All Occasions (my third and final there). Thanks for all the fun challenges!!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a crafty weekend! Stay safe out there!!

Berry Merry Christmas

Hey crafty friends - I'm back with more coloring for Kathy's (The Daily Marker) current Coloring Challenge. It's Day 2 of only 11 for this one, very doable. I decided to color a Power Poppy image I ordered after the last Coloring Challenge. Marcella has so many gorgeous stamps and digis - this image is from a Holiday clear stamp set.

Supplies: Paper - Strathmore watercolor; Paper Studio A2 card;
Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes 6x6
Stamps - Power Poppy Berry Sweet Holiday
Dies - A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle;
Lawn Fawn Stitched Labels
Other - Yasutomo watercolors; Hero Arts clear lacquer;
Copic black multiliner; various pencils;
Memento Desert Sand ink

I was also inspired by Bonnie's(Stamping with Klass) challenge over at CAS Mix Up where she's hosting with the theme of Watercolor & Off the Edge. I've never played there before so first-timer! I stamped my image off the edge of my watercolor paper using a pale beige ink to do no-line watercoloring. I stamped a second time coming down from the top and ended up trimming most of it off. I considered leaving it outline but ended up coloring it lighter than the main image. I added lacquer to the candy cane to make it stand out. I die cut three of the labels and layered for dimension, stamping the sentiment on the light teal one (the others were scraps). Done!

I'll also add (2nd entry) to Watercooler Wednesday for All Occasions. That's it for today - thanks for visiting and thanks to all hosts for the fun challenges!!

Christmas Stars

Hi friends! I'm popping in with a couple of cards made with several challenges in mind, starting with Darnell's Twofer Challenge with the theme of Stars. Here's my Twofer:

My stars in common are the bitty yellow ones - oddly, don't they seem bigger on the ornament? Trick of the eye, they're exactly the same and came from Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up set. Here's a closer look with supply list.

Supplies: Paper - Hero Arts (retired); Paper Studio
Stamps - Hero Arts Christmas Rose Bold Prints
Dies - Sizzix Angel set - JOY (retired);
A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle
Embossing folder - Stampin' Up Subtle 3D
Ink - Memento Lu Lu Lavender

For the Joy card I also had Christmas Kickstart and Let's Squash It! in mind. For those challenges, you need to use an embossing folder plus stamping. It might be hard to see the stamping on the background behind the ornament, plus the embossing is subtle (hence the folder's name - LOL). Here's a close-up of the stamping - I stamped tone on tone and then embossed. Also embossed the A2 card. Neon green too loud for you? I love it on the purple! This card will also go to Sisterhood of Crafters where they're doing embossing and to Darnell's November NBUS Challenge since the ornament got its first play today (pretty good - only three years old)!! **Update - apologies to Christmas Kickstart and Let's Squash It!! for not using a CHRISTMAS embossing folder - oops!**

I used the twist at Twofer that allows us to make both occasions Christmas - usually you have to do different ones. For my second card I pulled out an old Hero Arts set exclusive to Archiver's (NIB) with a trio of trees. I figured the little stars would be perfect on the tops. Well, they were too small for the bigger tree so I pulled out another LF set with a different star. Since I was digging in the LF pile, I used one of their labels for my sentiment.

Supplies: Paper - Ms Sparkle & Co A2 card; Momenta watercolor print;
Lawn Fawn Gotta Have Gingham; Authentique Colorful Christmas;
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Paper Studio Holiday & Brights
Stamps - Hero Arts Three Trees & Jolly Christmas (retired)
Dies - Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop Up ,
My Favorite Things Blueprints 2 (retired);
Other - Copic Markers; Stickles, lacquer

I'll add this one to Watercooler Wednesday where Helen is hosting All Occasions this week and to Kathy's (The Daily Marker) latest Coloring Challenge (only 11 days this time). I spent my 10 minutes today coloring the Christmas trees. 😀

Thanks to all for the fun challenges and thanks to you for visiting!!
