Happy Easter & last day for the March Die Cut Diva Challenge!

Happy Easter wishes to everyone celebrating today!! Most of my immediate family will celebrate in Arizona but I was going to take my friend/sister by choice Connie and her hubby to Easter buffet at Afton House Inn. We did the Thanksgiving buffet once and it was very good. I ended up coming down with a bit of a sniffle so we'll have to reschedule. Boo hoo!

I'm sharing at Die Cut Divas today along with the rest of the end-of month team. It's Anything Goes for this month at the Divas - just remember to use a die cut &/or embossing folder & get your last entries in by 9pm Pacific time today.

First I have some darling Easter treat boxes made using a new Lawn Fawn die set:

Supplies: Paper - Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb;
Lawn Fawn Fruit Salad Petite; Graphic 45 Time to Flourish;
Scraps of green
Dies - Lawn Fawn Carrot Treat Box
Stamps with Dies Carrot 'bout You (coordinating dies HERE),
Carrot 'bout You Banner Add-On (coordinating dies HERE)
Other - Copic markers, Memento Tuxedo Black ink;
Hero Arts Ultra Pink & TE Pumpkin

Lawn Fawn has generously donated a $25 gift card to their online store
for our random winner. Thanks, Lawn Fawn!

The box was just released for Spring 2024 and so were the stamped/die cut additions. So easy to put together and Kelly Marie has a great tutorial video on the product page. I simply die cut the box from patterned papers and the carrot tops from some green scraps & assembled per the video. Stamped, die cut and colored the bunnies, sign & banner and added to the assembled box. Both are filled with Easter candies - yum!! I'll add my carrot treat boxes to Darnell's March NBUS Challenge since they're new.

For my bonus today, I made some little chick boxes - so cute for Easter!

Supplies: Paper - Lawn Fawn retired &
scraps of Neenah white, black and orange
Dies - Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box &
Other - White gel pen

Simply die cut and assemble the box following the video tutorial Kelly Marie shares on the product page. Die cut and add the chick elements form the add-on set. These boxes had room for two Dove candies each. I will link my chicks to the current Dream Factory Challenge where no bunnies are allowed on your project. And my yellow chicks fit the current I Spy with My Little Eye Challenge to included something yellow.

And I can't forget to wish Hilary (fiddling about) a happy birthday today! Here's the card I sent her using Spellbinders Spring Reflection (DOML-Feb23) and a bunch of snippets along with a background of MFT's colorful canvas in a fave color of Hilary's - green! The sentiment came from a Betterpress set You are Everything Sentiments. Hilary received the card a while ago (you never know about the post) but waited til today to open it!

Happy Birthday, Hilary!!

That's it for today. Hope to see you in the March Diva gallery by 9pm Pacific time today!

Thanks for visiting & enjoy your Easter!!

Winter Wonderland Window with Winter Birds

Hey everyone - TGIF! I'm sharing a card for the current Christmas Kickstart Challenge #84 (first of a possible 3 max). As usual, I need to boost my Christmas card production!! For this challenge Jo (Jo Blogs) and elf Meghan (Made by Meghan K) are getting their Grinch on & using GREEN!! That means making green the focus of the color scheme - yes, I can!

Supplies: Paper - Co'redinations glitter; Neenah White;
Paper Studio A2 card; Lawn Fawn Petite Plaid Rainbow;
scrap of green for branch
Stamps with Dies - My Favorite Things Winter Songbird (retired);
Hot Foil Plate with Dies - Lawn Fawn Winter Big Scripty Words
(dies HERE)
Dies - Lawn Fawn Winter Wonderland Window;
Elizabeth Craft Designs Pine Cones
Other - Copic Markers; foam tape; Spellbinders gold foil;
Taylored Expressions pre-printed sentiment strip

I picked up the Lawn Fawn snowflake window last week at Anchor Paper - all dies except new releases were 15% off so I went a little crazy. Plus, Lawn Fawn is sponsoring our March Die Cut Divas Challenge so I wanted to be sure I was well stocked for my Diva posts. Couldn't wait until then to use this set though! Cut the snowflake part from white glitter paper, then cut the arch part into an A2 card. Backed the arched window with green plaid paper then popped the snowflake frame on top with foam tape. Die cut a branch & added it into the window, curling up the needles.

Next I stamped, die cut and colored the birdies. I'd thought to paper piece the sweaters but I couldn't find a print that worked with the stamped patterns. Just did some quick Copic coloring. Added the birdies to the branch. I had the foiled and printed sentiments in the Christmas bits box; added them to the card - done!

I'll also add my card to Darnell's March NBUS Challenge #60 since the snowflake set got first play here. And also to Ellie's current I Spy With My Little Eye Challenge #12 since bird starts with b and branch too, for that matter! That's my 4th entry at I Spy (limit of 5).

That's it for today - thanks for stopping by & enjoy your weekend!!

Smooshed inks on an Easter Card!

Happy Monday! Very gloomy here to start the day but the weekend was crazy warm for this time of year; it got up to 74F. In Minnesota, in March?? Anyway, not so nice today but I needed to get busy on my Easter cards!

I was thinking ahead to Darnell's (djkardkreations) IDEAS plan for this week - first Monday of the month so "I" is for inks/color mediums. I had decided to do some ink smooshing using acetate & did a blue and a green panel yesterday. So I was delighted to see Darnell's gorgeous smooshed vases (she used Lindy's magicals). I just used plain ol' water reactive inks for the greens and Distress Oxide inks for the blues. Here's my card:

Supplies: Paper - Neenah Classic Crest Solar White;
My Favorite Things Colorful Canvas; many scraps
Stamps with dies - Avery Elle Easter Egg (dies HERE)
Dies - Spellbinders Spring Reflection (DOML-Feb23);
My Favorite Things Sunflower Wreath
Other - Copic Markers; foam tape

I smooshed inks on a piece of acetate, spritzed with water and pressed onto a panel of Neenah white (110 lb). Did this multiple times, drying between each layer. Here are my finished panels:

Bought a sweet Avery Elle bunny stamp set plus the coordinating dies last week at my local crafting mecca, Anchor Paper. Stamped the bunny image on Neenah, then a second one of just the egg/hand part, then a third of the latter on patterned paper. Die cut the full image and fussy cut the rest. Then I stamped & fussy cut the hands. I colored the images with Copics as needed, adhered the layers & popped the hands with foam tape.

Next I die cut an oval three times from a Spellbinders set I've used a few times lately - it was still on the craft table! I cut once from another piece of white (for dimension), once from the smooshed blue and once from the smooshed green. I die cut the green oval down with a grass/leaf die and trimmed off the leaves that looked too tall. Layered these up and added the assembled bunny.

Die cut the side panel twice from the smooshed green and added some extra ink to the edges. This side panel is different from the one I used on previous cards (see them HERE, & HERE if you missed them); the die set comes with two options! Next I die cut an orange A2 panel and adhered it to the card base, then the side panels and assembled oval with bunny. Die cut a sentiment, some flowers and leaves then arranged them around the bottom of the egg.

I'll add this to Darnell's March NBUS Challenge since the bunny is newly used. And since B is for Bunny, I'll also link up (entry #3) at Ellie's current I Spy with My Little Eye Challenge. While I was at it, I made a second bunny in this style. I also stamped and Copic colored a third bunny with no dimension or paper piecing.

Thanks for stopping by & have a crafty day!!

B is for Bunny

A peeking bunny, that is! Happy Sunday, everyone - I'm back with another card for the current I Spy with My Little Eye Challenge, using things starting with B. I loved Ellie's inspiration card with the gorgeous stamped bunny but I went with a die cut one using a new Hero Arts set. Just got it in the mail last week and had managed to do a test cut in white which I used for my card:

Supplies: Paper - Neenah White & Desert Storm;
Bazzill A2 card; My Favorite Things Colorful Canvas;
BoBunny Dotted; scraps of greens
Stamps - Hero Arts Celebrate Every Day (retired)
Dies - Hero Arts Peeking Bunny, Wood Fence,
Stencil - Taylored Expressions Set the Scene - Clouds
Other - Copic Markers; Park Lane gem;
Memento Sky Blue & Hero Art Ultra Pink inks

I shaded the white bunny with some Copics. I left the flower from the set white but die cut colors (solids or patterns) to put over top of the other elements (carrot, hat, scarf). I also got the fence die in my order & did a test cut using a Neenah kraft color called Desert Storm - my local store often gives a pack as a gift with purchase. Shaded the details with an E Copic.

I stenciled a piece of white Neenah using TE clouds for my sky & added some MFT lime green print for the ground. A couple die cut grasses, a gem for the flower, & a stamped sentiment finished the card. Note - I did snip off some of the foreground foliage that seemed too long beyond the fence. Was really happy with how this turned out!

I'll also add my card to Darnell's February NBUS Challenge since my bunny and fence dies are newly used. I'm also linking up to the current Just Us Girls Challenge #715 where Anything Goes with Stencils.

That's it for today; hope you're having a wonderful weekend! Note - the funeral I attended yesterday was a wonderful celebration of our friend Bob. I saw loads of people I hadn't seen in a while &, of course, there was glorious music!

Peaceful Time Birdies

Hi everyone - TGIF! I'm back with another card for the current Christmas Kickstart Challenge "Out on a Limb". I found a sweet Penny Black birdie in the stash that I used twice over 3 years ago (go HERE & HERE, if interested); thought I'd give it another go:

Supplies: Paper - Bazzill A2 card; Neenah white;
My Favorite Things Colorful Christmas Text
Hero Arts Bermuda; Spellbinders Betterpress Porcelain
Penny Black Holiday Trimmings (retired)
Stamps with Dies - Penny Black Peaceful Time (dies HERE)
Dies - Hero Arts Tag Frames Infinity Dies
Press Plate & Die - Spellbinders Merry & Bright Sentiment Strips
Other - foam tape; Copic Markers

Since I was at it, I colored a second birdie and made another Christmas card. This time I used a bright green piece of the MFT Christmas text paper and added a frame of pines cut with Hero Arts Branches Infinity Dies. I cut a "sun" from a scrap of yellow watercolor print paper using Hero Arts Nesting Circle Infinity Dies. Assembled on an A2 card & added a sentiment from Colorado Craft Company's Cozy Cat set (dies HERE). Done! Which card do you prefer?

Since bird starts with B, I'll also add card one to Ellibelle's Corner's current I Spy with My Little Eye Challenge. I know Ellie from playing in the Card Chain Challenge but had never done an I Spy til now. I already have an idea for another entry! :)

That's it for today, friends - thanks for stopping! Have a wonderful weekend!!
