December Card Chain Reveal

Hey crafty friends - hope you had a wonderful New Year's Eve and Day!! Very quiet since no big parties here, but hey - it's a new year and I wish you all good things!! Today we're revealing cards sent round the world for the Card Chain Challenge in December. Twenty-four people played along for this special edition of the CCC which normally would have taken a holiday break. You can see the entire chain revealed HERE. I sent this card to Annerieke (My Creative World) in The Netherlands:

Supplies: Paper - Hero Arts Sea Mix Layering Paper (retired);
Paper Studio Holiday; Tim Holtz Kraft Metallic;
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
Stamps - Hero Arts Hero Florals Lavender Bunch,
Christmas Banner Stamp & Cut (retired),
Thoughtful Messages (retired)
Lawn Fawn Stitched Ornaments (bow)
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug Snowflakes (retired)
Other - Yasutomo watercolors; Crystal Stickles;
Ranger Seafoam White ep;
Versamark and Memento Tuxedo Black inks;
3M Washi Tape

We had a tic-tac-toe board to use for the challenge theme.

I chose to try the full house - it is a challenge after all... I wanted to do a Christmas card and the bees could've been a problem for a winter theme. I squeezed them in by embossing them into the Christmas Rose pattern I'd already white embossed on a blue panel. Then I die cut the panel into an ornament & added a silver hanger. Next I painted the ornament's flowers yellow and pink, berries red & leaves green, then added some detail & Stickles to the bees. I cut a couple more ornaments and glued into a stack for stability and dimension. My birds are doves stamped in black on white. I also used black to stamp my Christmas banner & sentiment. I dry embossed a snowflake background and tore it diagonally. Added a strip of silver washi tape to the top. Stamped and powder embossed a friendship sentiment. Whew - I don't even think it seems too busy including all these items!! Am I crazy??

I received this darling one-layer card from Gundi (Papierelle) in Germany; thanks Gundi!!

Thanks to Gail and Jo for deciding to run a December Card Chain and to all the links in the chain for their friendship!! Want to join in the fun?? You can sign up for the January chain until the 6th - go here for details.

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!!

Bravo! I tried for a full house too but wouldn’t have dared try to make it a Christmas card - you did a fabulous job, especially sneaking in the bees! Happy New Year to you and yours, let’s hope 2021 is kinder to us all.
