Last Day of Tic-Tac-Toe at Die Cut Divas!

Hi everyone - I'm part of the last day post at Die Cut Divas for our April Challenge. We have a tic-tac-toe board for some fun and you have until 9pm PST to play along. The Design Team is playing with digis from our sponsor Joy Clair Designs but you can use any supplies. Just be sure to include a die or embossing folder for your project along with the theme. Here's my card:

Supplies: Paper - Spelbinders A2 card; Poptone Black;
My Favorite Things Petite Gingham
Digital stamps - Joy Clair Designs Truly Inspire
Dies - A Jillian Vance Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop Set;
My Favorite Things Blueprints 2
Other - Hero Arts Spring Enamels Stickers;
Copic Markers (R22/24/46/59)

I used the diagonal lower left to upper right: Flowers, Friendship, Red. Thanks to teamie Arlene (A Bit of This and That) for sending the digi prints (again, no working printer). I fussy cut the two blossoms from Joy Clair Designs Truly Inspire & colored the first one with shades of red Copic Markers. Decided to leave the second in outline. Trimmed the sentiment block into three parts, put foam tape behind the top & bottom one. Die cut a rectangle from a gingham paper & a mat layer from black, added to the card base & then the rest of the elements. Done!

Now for a bonus card using some wonderful Joy Clair clear stamps & the left vertical row:

Supplies: Paper - Penny Black Painted Blooms; Neenah white;
BoBunny Serendipity Collection; Hero Arts Pitch Black;
Paper Studio teal card
Stamps - Joy Clair Designs
Dies - Hero Arts Museum Frame
Other - Star Dust Stickles; Copic Markers; Park Lane gems; white pen

In March I read Jodi Picoult's Wish You Were Here. The protagonist learns to appreciate life in new ways (I won't say how) - loved this book!! That's my inspiration for this card using flowers and sentiment from Wish Big. I stamped and colored the garden scene, framed it and added to several layers of paper. Hard to read in the photo but the sentiment reads "Life is Beautiful" - so true!

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you in the April gallery!

Poppies for Mother's Day

Hello friends - sorry I've been missing in action! My April 21st post was scheduled ahead of time, thankfully. That's the day my sweet mom passed from this world to the next - may she rest in peace. Mom won't be here for Mother's Day but I was thinking of her while making this card. It'll go to her sister, my second mom.

Supplies: Paper - Anchor Paper grey linen; Neenah Solar White;
Poptone Black; Paper Studio glitter; Momenta Watercolor print
Dies - Spellbinders Christmas Foliage Strip & Borders and
Asters and Poppies (retired) but available HERE;
A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop Set
Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings (retired)
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Many Minis - Holidays (retired)

I die cut the poppy after spotting the April Day of the Month Card Club challenge. It was California Poppy Day on April 6th so the team decided to celebrate that flower all month long. I thought their inspiration photo & cards were so beautiful! I found the bow made up in my UFO box & had just die cut a white test piece with a new Spellbinders border die. It's a large slimline die but I cut the panel with a stitched rectangle to layer onto my watercolor print panel. Thought it would all work together.

The border die is from the Spellbinders November 2021 Large Die of the Month Club. I have way too many club sets that haven't even been opened but I managed to try this one. Since it got first play here, I'm also adding my card to Darnell's April NBUS Challenge.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful day!

Tic Tac Toe with Joy Clair Designs!

Hey crafty friends - today I'm sharing at Die Cut Divas for our April Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. We're using fabulous Joy Clair Designs products this month but you can use any brand. Just remember to use a die or embossing folder for your design, plus a row from the board. Our sponsor has amazing digital stamps and asked us to work with the latest ones.

Supplies: Paper - Spellbinders; Poptone Black;
Anchor Paper green; Paper Studio glitter paper
Digital Stamps - Joy Clair Designs Always in Style
OtherCopic Markers; white gel pen; Park Lane gems

I used the left vertical row for my project. Thanks to Arlene (A Bit of This and That) for printing me the floral panel - still no working printer at my house... I colored the image with Copic Markers and die cut the panel. The sentiment was printed on the panel already so I just added a few gems for interest. I die cut a glitter frame using two rectangles then inlaid the floral panel. Added it to a postal stamp diecut with just a bit showing for some texture. Layered it onto a black mat and onto the white card - done!

Now for a bonus card using wonderful stamps I just bought from Joy Clair Designs. I didn't read our sponsor info carefully and had purchased three clear stamp sets to use - oops! Oh well, wanted them anyway. I was especially eager to use a new sympathy set. A dear friend from my Sweet Adelines world passed away recently and I sent this card to her family. Ferne and I started as pen pals nearly 25 years ago, then we met in person at many conventions. RIP Ferne!!

Supplies: Paper - Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb;
Anchor Paper; Paper Studio glitter paper; Hero Arts Pitch Black
Stamps - Joy Clair Heartfelt SympathyWish Big, &
Embossing Folder - Taylored Expressions Weathered
Dies - Hero Arts Chain Linked;
A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop Set
Other - Versamark Ink; Ranger Seafoam White ep;
Copic Markers; foam tape

I'm squeeking by on the left vertical row with 2+ Layers, Yellow and Flowers. When I made this card, somehow I only remembered the layering part & totally forgot about tic-tac-toe!! Luckily I used flowers & two of them are yellow...that's enough! Since my clear stamps got first play here, I'm adding to Darnell's April NBUS Challenge.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll join our April Diva challenge! Our random winner will receive 3 digital stamp sets.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter wishes to those celebrating today! My sister's baking a ham so I look forward to a lovely dinner with family. Thought I'd share the rest of my Easter designs for this year. I previously made a duckling card in February for our Die Cut Diva challenge; see it HERE if you missed it. I also posted a fuzzy bunny card last week for the Let's Squash It!! challenge; you can see that one HERE.

Supplies: Paper - Park Lane A2 card; vellum by unk;
Neenah Solar White; Hero Arts Layering (retired);
Paper Studio glitter; BoBunny Cottontail Collection
Stamps - Hero Arts With Sympathy (lily-retired)
Frantic Stamper - Spring Bold Sentiments
Dies - Spellbinders Crosses Two & an oval;

This was the only religious card I made; I'm more of the cutesy type when it comes to Easter cards. You can add embossed details on the cross but I forgot, oh well... I stamped and fussy cut the lilies, then added a stamped/die cut sentiment. The designer paper had the flowers across the bottom which I thought worked well to ground the cross. Since the striped paper was a bit busy, a vellum circle helped. The cross die doesn't have an outline layer so I just fussy cut one.

Supplies: Paper - Park Lane A2 card; various colored scraps;
Neenah Solar White; Authentique Jubilee Collection
Stamps - Hero Arts Easter Set (retired-exclusive to Archiver's);
Taylored Expressions All Tucked In Easter
Dies - A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop Set;
Poppystamps Folk Decorated Eggs (retired);
Other - Copic Markers; glitter gel pen

This one used more of the Poppystamps eggs I die cut for last week's card - I cut 81 eggs in 9 different colors. Made a pile for bitty bunny to peek over. Thought this design was so fun, I made two of them. With more eggs to use up, I made a border of them for the next card.

Supplies: Paper - Spellbinders A2 card; various colored scraps;
Neenah Solar White; BoBunny Cottontail Collection
Stamps - Hero Arts Easter Set (retired-exclusive to Archiver's)
Dies - Poppystamps Folk Decorated Eggs (retired)
Other - Copic Markers; Hero Arts Butter Bar Ink

The chicken came from the Hero Arts set containing the bunny - a definite fave of mine. The chicken is a silhouette stamp but I carefully traced the outlines so it would match the bunny.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday or whatever your day brings you! Thanks for visiting!!

Another embossed geometric

Hey crafty friends - welcome! I recently bought a new Memory Box embossing folder named Geometric Crystals (enabled by Trina of Phamtastic Design - see her beauty with it HERE on the MB blog!). With the name including geometric, it must be perfect for challenge #19 at Let's Squash It!!. Gail & Jo want to see dry embossing with geometric/repeating patterns.

Supplies: Paper - Park Lane A2 Card; Poptone Black Licorice;
Neenah Solar White; Tim Holtz watercolor paper; vellum
Embossing folder - Memory Box Geometric Crystals
Stamps - Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background
Dies - Hero Arts Butterfly (retired)
Spellbinders Oval; Taylored Expressions Simple Strips
Other - Tim Holtz Distress Markers; Park Lane gem;

I embossed a piece of watercolor paper and scribbled some Distress Marker in each square well. You can emboss the reverse way and get some gorgeous raised squares too - I'll try that soon! Spritzed the panel so the water moved around, then heated it til dry. Rubbed a Tumbled Glass ink pad across the raised border lines. Matted on black, then white and added to A2 card. Die cut a black butterfly and a vellum oval. Added to card along with a sentiment strip - done!

I'm also adding this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #37 since my embossing folder is getting first play today.

Thanks for stopping and have a crafty day!!

Fuzzy Bunny

Happy Sunday everybody - it's turning into a lovely spring day! Instead of heading out into it, I started working on a card inspired by challenge #19 at Let's Squash It!!. Gail & Jo asked for embossing with geometric/repeating patterns.

Supplies: Paper - Spellbinders A2 Card; Michael's green;
Neenah Solar White; various colored scraps for eggs
Embossing folder - Spellbinders Diamond Plaid
Stamps - Frantic Stamper Spring Bold Sentiments
Dies - Frantic Stamper Fuzzy Bunny & Spring Bold Sentiments Matchers;
Poppystamps Folk Decorated Eggs (retired)
Other - sparkle gel pen; Copic Markers (R00, R20, C1);
Tree House Studio googly eyes & Park Lane gem;
Hero Arts inks

I got a big box from Spellbinders last week and was eager to use a new-to-me embossing folder. Luckily it matched perfectly with Let's Squash It's April theme! I die cut green cardstock with a stitched rectangle, then embossed it and ran a green ink pad across the raised sections. Adhered to card base. I already had a pile of die cut eggs - the set comes with 9 egg dies and I didn't cut them apart. I just die cut the entire set each time & for this year used 9 different scrap papers.

The bunny and sentiment are from the Frantic Stamper March 2022 release - just received these Friday and had already die cut my bunny. Picked up some oval googly eyes at Hobby Lobby yesterday because the die cuts the bunny's oval eyes totally out. I didn't want to bother inlaying the die cut pieces so I covered the holes with a circle on the back of Mr. Bunny and glued on the googly eyes. I did inlay the nose and bits on the feet, again first covering the holes with a piece on the back. It was easier than I thought it was going to be! The sentiment set is fabulous and I love all the matching dies. The Easter Wishes die cuts one piece but I trimmed it into two. While stamping I somehow got an ink splotch right in the middle - hate when that happens!

Arranged an egg pile for Mr. Bunny to sit on and gave him an egg to hold. Done! I'm also adding this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #37 since the everything but the Easter eggs is brand spankin' new.

Thanks for stopping and have a crafty day!!

Gnome Season's Greetings

Happy almost weekend! It's snowing/raining here today - perfect time to make a Christmas card! I'm playing along with Jo & Elf Gail's April Christmas Kickstart Challenge to use a gnome.

Supplies: Paper - Bazzill A2 card; Lawn Fawn; Anchor Paper
Stamps - Hero Arts Family & Friends (retired)
Digi Stamp - Scrapflower Estudio Sign Nordic Gnome
Dies - A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop Set;
Taylored Expressions Easy Strips 1/8"
Other - Copic Markers

I had a left over digi print from Scrapflower Estudio's Sign Nordic Gnome set. I used him in October at Die Cut Divas - you can see those cards here & here if interested. This print was a bit bigger than the others but I see I used a similar design to my 10/31 card - just no snowflakes. LOL -  didn't even remember it - guess I'm not very creative...

I colored the print with Copics and stamped a sentiment, then fussy cut. Die cut two stitched dot rectangles and trimmed one to 2.25" for the bottom. Added a black die cut strip. Adhered to A2 card & added my digi image - done. Another Christmas card for the stash!

That's it for today. Hope you're having a great week and thanks for visiting!

Ouch!

Hey crafty friends - I'm back with another paper doll card - this time for a young friend who broke her leg. Ouch!

Supplies: Paper - Spellbinders A2 card; Tim Holtz kraft;
Doodlebug Swiss Dots Rainbow Petite & some scraps
Stamps - Hero Arts Lifestyle Faces
Dies - Hero Arts Lifestyle Forms;
Taylored Expressions Easy Strips 1/8"
A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop
Other - white gel pen

You may remember my sister's honorary niece Jerriah who has played along in SSS Summer Kids Challenge (see HERE & HERE). She visited my parents on Saturday and it was great to see her; then she went home and fell on her stairs - poor dear! Now she'll be in a long cast for many weeks.

I was thinking what kind of card to make for her. Hmmm - decided a paper doll would be cute with a cast on her leg. I had some rolled bandage that sticks to itself - perfect to simulate a cast! I hand cut the crutches. If you missed my earlier paper doll, go HERE if interested. I love the Spellbinders alphabet I'm using for only the second time (got it in 2020...). What a great value and it's on sale now so even better! Hard to see but I added a black shadow to each letter.

Hope you're enjoying your week! I need to get busy on Easter cards, then more Christmas cards for the stash. How are you doing with yours?

Thanks for visiting!!

March 2022 Card Chain Reveal

Another month of 2022 just flew by! It's already time to reveal cards that went around the world for the March Card Chain Challenge. Thirty people participated by making/sending one card and receiving one card. My card went to dear Debbie (Secrets to Stamping) in Michigan; you can see the entire chain HERE.

Supplies: Paper - Michael's green;
Momenta Watercolor print
My Favorite Things Petite Gingham
Horizon Empossed Scrapbook Paper
Dies - Impression Obsession Fancy Shamrock;
Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Scalloped Frames;
A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop
Embossing Folder - Stampin' Up Subtle (retired)
Other - Pink & Main emamel dots

I met Debbie online through another card-making challenge blog & discovered she's a Stampin' Up consultant. Couldn't resist placing an order with her for some SU goodies, including the Subtle embossing folder. I'm glad she found time to join the Card Chain!

Once again I've used the colors and the sketch. Since "shamrock" is one of the colors, I couldn't resist using shamrock pieces for the sketch's circle elements. This isn't a St Patrick's Day card, though, since neither Debbie nor I celebrate it. I just love the shamrocks made of hearts!

I really liked the triple sentiment idea and went with 3 die cuts from the same Picket Fence Studios set. I die cut them twice for dimension and a third time for a shadow. The top layer was embossed with the Subtle pattern. The paper for the spice layer came embossed - got it years ago in the Target "Hot Spot".  I die cut it with a dot stitched rectangle and it held the pattern well.

I received this darling card from Jo (Just a Dotty Pudding) in the UK. Thanks Jo!! Don't you just love the barnyard quartet? I'm lucky to have met Jo through various challenges she hosts, including Christmas Kickstart and Let's Squash It!! where I'm a devoted player, plus the Card Chain Challenge - busy lady!!

You can still join us for the April 2022 Chain - just go HERE to sign up by April 6th. Thanks for visiting and have a crafty day!!
