When I was out shopping for interesting materials to emboss, I specifically looked for leather and used it on card two** (card one was on vellum). I'd gone to Hobby Lobby and found some gorgeous colors. They also have a large selection of vinyl, both in rolls and 12x12" sheets. Picked up this crazy abstract print in one of the latter. Embossed it adding a scrap piece of card stock for stability.
The vinyl has an adhesive backing which, when I removed it, was beautifully embossed! I used it for a bonus card.
Add'l supplies: Die - Hero Arts Nesting Oval Infinity Dies
Other - Pink and Main enamel dot
The material was tricky to adhere but the Tombow multi medium tacky glue worked perfectly, along with putting some weight on it. Same with the strip of vinyl, then the paper oval needed it to stick to the vinyl...
The loose piece of black card stock I tossed in with the vinyl also got embossed so I have a threefer!
Add'l supplies: Paper - Michael's Recollections Halloween
Stamps - Avery Elle Seasonal Simple Sentiments
Other - Park Lane gems
** Noticed that my card two for Let's Squash It!! was very similar to card one - sorry about that! Not to worry, the post for card two also contained a second card with another piece of embossed leather and a totally different design. And if that wasn't enough, I remodeled card two after posting it! I added some thin frames from Honey Bee for a more graphic look. What do you think of the update?
Thanks to Gail and Jo, plus guest Jane, for all the fun embossing uncommon materials this month!!
Thanks to you for stopping by - wishing you a crafty day!

Oh, oh oh!! ((waving hands in the air)) These are all lovely. I love the multicoloured vinyl. Don't know if we can get that here....... but it looks awesome. So many pretty cards. Torn by the last one. Love the graphic black frames against the lime but did like to see all that lovely embossing without them as well. Awesome collection of cards. Thanks for joining the fun at Let's Squash It! Hugz
Amazing Linda. You have found some fun different mediums to emboss. How clever to get Three cards from one embossing pass. that vinyl looks incredible. Well done on all your cards.
Wonderful collection of embossed vinyl cards you have here. I would never think to emboss vinyl, but they look great.
great array of cards, Linda - think my fave is the last one - love the graphic look!
You are obviously having fun with your embossing. I always mean to enter but somehow always run out of time. I love all of your examples xx
You have had such fun with this challenge! So did I - I'm constantly on the lookout for new things to emboss now. That patterned vinyl is wonderful and with the knitting effect folder it looks as if you've knitted the background out of random-dyed yarn. Love it - and all your fab makes.

The cable knit embossing folder is a lot of fun and you've shown it off wonderfully! On the first card, the embossed vinyl is just fabulous.
LOVE the update! That embossing folder is beautiful & looks so different depending on what is embossed! How fabulous to get 3 cards using things you weren't actually planning on, I'm assuming. I do love dry embossing, so love all of these!
Beautiful cards!!! Love the first!! Hugs Gundi
