Unicorn birthday pop-up

Hello crafty friends. We have heavy hearts in the Twin Cities after a church shooting today. Two grade schoolers lost their lives & many more people were injured. It happened during a school mass early this morning. I was out running errands & found out when I turned on the noon news - so horrific!! The church/school sits just a mile north of where we go to eat after chorus rehearsal - typically a very safe area. Prayers to everyone affected, especially the families of the two angels!

I was planning to post the card below and decided to go ahead. My sweet little cousin A who made a card at my house last month just turned 5 yesterday. She told me how much she loves unicorns and luckily I got a unicorn die set at Paperganza. She's starting school next week and I pray she'll be safe along with all other children everywhere!!

Supplies: Paper - Lawn Fawn; MFT;
Recollections glitter cardstock; scraps
Dies - Lawn Fawn Platform Pop-up
MFT Stitched Numbers
Other - Betterpressed sentiment

The unicorn set is an add-on for the brand's pop up mechanism. I didn't get the mechanism set in my swag at Paperganza - just the unicorn part. No worries - I pulled out the Lawn Fawn pop-up platform set and it worked perfectly. Here's a view of the card folded flat:

I'm playing along at Darnell's IDEAS where this week Anything Goes & at NBUS #77 since the unicorn die set got first play here.

Thanks for stopping by & hold your loved ones close!!

She's probably not the only girl who loves unicorns and glitter. She'll be thrilled.

My heart breaks for yet another senseless act of violence. May God be with all of those affected by this tragedy. On a happier note, your card is darling! Such a lucky 5 year old to receive something so sweet!

That shooting reached our news too. Such a terrible thing. I am so sorry for the community. Your card is just lovely, so cute and perfect for a 5yr old xx

I will never understand the mentality that feels the only way to address their feelings is to kill innocents. Senseless.

I'd rather look at your lovely and fun pop up unicorn. So much fun. I bet she loved it.

I've been thinking of you and my other MN friends as this horror unfolded, Linda. I'm glad your family was not impacted. All of us everywhere are without any more words for these tragedies. Thank you for making me smile with your darling unicorn box pop-up box card for your sweet little cousin who loves unicorns and making cards! She will cherish this forever! And thank you for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and linking in the gallery there - and again at NBUS - to inspire and motivate others! Hugs, Darnell

Your card is adorable and your little cousin is going to love it, especially the unicorn. Sweet!! I love those pop-up cards and now need to check out Lawn Fawn to see if they still have it! :) xx

A gorgeous card Linda. It was such sad news about the children. What is the world coming to. Thank goodness for us crafters who do our little bit to make people happy with our creations.
