September 2021 Card Chain Revealed!

Hi crafty friends - it's time to reveal the cards that went round the world for the September 2021 Card Chain Challenge! My card went to Marianne (Marianne's cards 'n stuff) in Greece which I learned at the last minute since I'd signed up in the first slot. That person always sends to the final person to sign up. I heard from Marianne that she received the card last week and loved the dimensional flowers - yay!! You can see the entire chain HERE.

Supplies: Paper - Sunny Studio Flirty Flowers 6x6;
Paper Studio pink; Momenta watercolor print;
Neenah white; Ms Sparkle green
Dies - A Jillian Vance Design Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop Set
Sunny Studio Botanical Backdrop
My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 & 8 (retired)
Stamps - Hero Arts Everyday Sayings
Other - Hero Arts Fresh Lawn ink & Paper Studio gems

I went with the colors and the sketch, as well as the themes of flowers & friendship.

My patterned paper looks a bit blue in the photo but it matches the periwinkle much better in real life! The peony card base reads a bit pale too, oh well - we can be liberal with the shades! For my take on the sketch I put the patterned paper behind the die cut to fill the long window in the diecut with the trio of windows on the bottom half.

I was excited to get this beauty from Pia (Pias Papir og Perler) in Norway who just joined the Card Chain - yay! I just love the silvery medallion filled with paper pieced flowers - so gorgeous, my photo doesn't do it justice. Pia also included some die cuts which I'll enjoy using - thanks again, Pia! I claim some Norwegian heritage on my paternal side of the family so it was fun to correspond with Pia. I mean, our pro football team is the Vikings - what does that tell you...

You have until October 6th to sign up HERE if you'd care to join the October chain - we'd love to see you! Thanks for stopping & happy World Card Making Day!!

  2. Very clever use of the sketch and how lovely to be able to send a card with dimensional flowers such a long way n the post. Very clever how they will flatten in the envelope. You are very lucky to have received that beauty from Pia too. I love it and I bet it looks even better in real life xx
