Blue Monday


This week on Merry Monday, Debbie gave the challenge to use monochromatic blue on a Christmas card.  I just love this idea and had the perfect blue card stock from Hero Arts - Azure Layering Paper - that I received as a free gift from a2z Scrapbooking with a recent Hero Arts order.  Here's my card:


Winter Sparkle blue

I formed a top fold A2 card using 1/2 of a piece of layering paper.  I cut a 3.75 x 5" piece from the other 1/2 and stamped it with Hero Arts Winter Sparkle Background using Salty Ocean Distress ink.  Added a piece of striped ribbon I received from my friend Sally, matted the panel with white and popped it with foam onto the card.  Then I added some Hero Arts felt snowflakes and some gems.  The mini-tag was from my stash - it's from the Designer Mini Tag set by Taylored Expressions (love their dies!); it's stamped in Salty Ocean using a sentiment from a Hero Arts clear set Merry Christmas Message.  

Hope you're having a crafty week!  I'm not - I squeezed this card in less than 30 minutes, then allowed myself and hour to photograph, upload and write my post.  That's it for this week since I'm getting ready for the City of Lakes Chorus show.  I hope to get more crafting done next week.
