Snowflake on a long card

Was just surfing my friends' blogs when I spotted my friend Cindy had posted a Scramble in the Hero Arts Flickr group. Yes, we're still out there but often neglect it just because there are so many other formats out there, including our own blogs. Anyway, her challenge is to do a long card so I made one to fit an A10 envelope. Thought I'd make a snowflake card so I could get it into the July CAS Christmas. Plus A Blog Named Hero has a challenge for Christmas in July so thought I'd link it there too. Here's my card:

Supplies: Paper - Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Paper Studio glitter
Ms Sparkle woodgrain
Dies - Hero Arts Snowflake Fancy Die (retired)
Stamp - Hero Arts Holiday Cheer (retired)
Other - Pine Needles Distress Ink; silver pen
gem in center is from an old My Monthly Hero kit

For a Scramble, you only get 90 minutes to create, photograph and upload so this card is very QACAS. Since it's for Hero Arts, you must use at least one HA product (I used two). The sentiment is from a 2011 clear set I recently received from my friend Jean - thanks again, Jean!! How did I not have that set in my stash is a mystery...

Thanks for stopping and thanks to Cindy for motivating me to get another Christmas card done!!

Twofer July - Garden

Hey everyone - hope you're having a great week! The Twofer July challenge was announced today and I had some time this evening to play along. The theme is Garden - yay - I love flowers.

Here's my Twofer:

My common images are the lilies and roses from Hero Arts From the Vault Flowers. Hero Arts is celebrating 45 years in business (Congrats!!) and has reissued some vintage woodblock images in clear format. First I used a bunch of flowers from the set to create a background. It's been done many times - for a good reason, it's fun!! Here's a closer look (you can tell the light was better when I took this photo...):

Supplies: Paper - DCWV Ms Sparkle green card; Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; unknown stripe;
Poptone Black Licorice; Michael's green; My Favorite Things Watercolor Wash
Dies - My Favorite Things various Blueprints (retired); Whimsy Thanks Word with Shadow Die Set
Stamps - Hero Arts From the Vault Flowers; Cottage Cutz Daffodil & Larkspur sets ( used the bugs)
Other - foam tape

For the second card I made a bouquet of colored & cut flowers and bundled them in a wrapper from an old My Monthly Hero kit. Here's a closer look (light was already going - sorry for the shadows):

Supplies: Paper - DCWV Ms Sparkle green & blue card; Neenah Classic Crest Solar White;
Paper Studio stripe; Poptone Black Licorice; Michael's green; My Favorite Things watercolor;
Bazzill textured goldenrod; Doodlebug Hello 6x6 dot pattern
Dies - My Favorite Things various Blueprints (retired); Whimsy Doodled Doily (retired);
Cuttlebug name unknown; Hero Arts Nesting Circle Infinity Dies & dies to match stamps
Stamps - Hero Arts From the Vault Flowers and January 2017 My Monthly Hero
Other - Copic markers, foam tape

The Happy Bday diecut has been in the UFO box forever! Had to include a photo of the ancient Cuttlebug plate I used to cut it eons ago. I can't even tell you how old the plate is but I've had it a long time. It's the kind with all that white foam under the metal plate. Anyone else have such items in the stash?

Thanks to Darnell and the Twofer crew for a fun challenge! And congrats to Cat for joining the DT over there - just love her cards!! And thanks to you for stopping by!

Snowflakes for CAS Christmas

Happy 4th of July if you're celebrating! So happy to enjoy the freedoms we have in the great US of A!!

I had to laugh - just made a couple snowflake cards the other day and lo and behold - the July Challenge at CAS Christmas is Snowflake! Luckily my stash has a huge bunch of snowflake stuff so I quickly whipped up three cards last night and today.

My first card uses a snowflake flourish I cut on the Silhouette and had in my UFO box along with a pile of other snowflakes. I layered a couple more snowflakes onto the biggest one, added some gems and a diecut sentiment, called it a day! Very quick and easy.

Supplies: Paper - Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Poptone Black Licorice
DCWV Ms Sparkle shimmer blue A2 card
Silhouette file - Design ID 23582 Flourish snowflake by Lori Whitlock
Dies - center snowflake from Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes (next layer unknown)
Joy is from Sizzix Angel stamp & cut (retired)
Other - gems from Michaels

Next I used a Hero Arts snowflake ornament die. Had to have this one last year and never made a card with it until now! Typical.... Managed to use a couple more UFO box items - the glittery bow and Merry. The rest I cut specifically for this project.

Supplies: Paper - Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Paper Studio glitter
DCWV Ms Sparkle shimmer green A2 card; Momenta Watercolor
Merry & bow from Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut

Other - Michaels gems

I was going through my stash trying to reorganize some stuff and sorting through some goodies my friend Jean sent me. Spotted a fun Penny Black set with snowflake ornaments - just had to use them for a third card. I stamped the Christmas with the dangling snowflakes and added a diecut merry. Super quick and easy!

Supplies: Paper - DCWV Ms Sparkle shimmer blue A2 card; Paper studio glitter
scrap of blue; Momenta Watercolor
Dies - My Favorite Things Blueprints (retired); Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut
Stamps - Penny Black Most Wonderful
Other - Michaels gems; Hero Arts Navy ink

Thanks for stopping and making it to the end of this post! I'm watching A Capitol 4th on public TV and then I'll switch over to watch Macy's fireworks show on NBC. Our local fireworks are good but I'd rather watch them without bugs!!
